World Boxing Champion...Hanna Gabriels 

Hanna Gabriels continues to make history in and outside of the ring: 

1. Costa Rica's first World Champion 12/19/2009 in the 147lb. category

2. First womens world boxing event in Nicaragua 12/19/2009 
(4th round KO win) 

3. Costa Rica's World Champion 5/29/2010 in the 154lb. category 
(Gardy Pena -vs- Hanna Gabriel's) 

4. First womens world boxing event in Puerto Rico 5/29/2010 
(11 seconds KO Win) 

5. First World Boxing event to be televised live in Costa Rica 


Hanna Gabriels -versus- Gardy Pena 

On May 29th 2010, Hanna Gabriels brought home to Costa Rica a second world title in an amazing power filled 11 seconds. You read right.... 11 seconds!!!! 

11 seconds that were filled with 22 Mike Tyson power punches thrown, 12 of which landed in bone crushing fashion. The fight was won after a liver body blow left Gardy in extreme doubled over pain. 


Hanna Gabriels -versus- Wanda Pena 

Two years prior, as Hanna was barely starting her professional career she battled with Gardy's sister Wanda. That match was ended in 7 seconds due to a blow that broke Wanda's jaw. 

What needs to be understood is that Hanna Gabriels is a newcomer to the boxing world in comparison to those who have a similar record yet she must be one of the most dangerous newcomers if not the most dangerous due to her focus, drive and determination. 


Outside the boxing ring 

Hanna decided she wanted to be much more than just one more name in the history books of boxing and in Costa Rica's general history. She decided to embrace the need to make a difference in her community ... at least try. 

In January 2009, she embarked on a ambitous mission by way of a self-funded motivational outreach student tour througout Costa Rica. 

Currently Team Hanna is completing the first leg of the tour which consists of gathering information of each area visited. This information will then be used to fine tune an ambitious school athletics program that she hopes will allow students to truly fufill there maximum potential by achieving life goals. 


Whats next??? 

Team Hanna is currently setting up the next level of goals needed to be reach in order to be ready for the next defense of the title.
